Abinitio Technical Lead
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 10-11 months with possible contract to hire
Business Initiative/Purpose:
Manager is looking for a key Technical Lead in our Enterprise Data Organization in the Private Wealth Management space.
Initial/Primary Project Names:
FocalPoint Enhancements, Digital Client Experience, FastNet, Zenith, Advisor Desktop
PMs, Business Analyst, ETL Leads, Data Modelers, ETL developers. Both internal and global resources.
Must Have Skills:
- Must Have 3 to 5 years of experience as a TECHNICAL LEAD in a BI environment.
- Must have solid experience with ETL (MUST HAVE AB-INITIO)
- Must have experience leading ONSHORE AND OFFSHORE TEAMS
- Database design and modeling experience
- Knowledge of SOA Architecture and concepts
Plus/Nice to Have Skills:
- Data Modeling
- Ability to co-ordinate meetings with BA’s, PM’s and other technical leads.
- Experience in a BI Environment
- Experience in Big Data"
Prior Experience / Skills Needed:
- 5-8 years of cumulative experience in software design, product/component development.
- 3-5 years of technical design experience along with good documentation skills that include UML, ERD and the ability to articulate in detail.
- 5-7 years RDMBS experience; good knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Information systems, or Mathematics
- Strong cross-functional technical & business communication skills
- Experience of leading a technical team in onshore-offshore model, including delegation while carrying the accountability of the work product delivery
- Understand requirement and create conceptual design
- Self-Directed and Self-Starter work ethic
- Sharp, inquisitive, reliable, and professional
- 5+ years cumulative experience across these areas;
- 2-3+ years experience in application development within a large, shared service based IT organization
- 2-3+ years of experience with Ab Initio products.
- 2-3+ years of experience with relational and BI Data warehouse database systems design and development
Responsibilities:
The Technical Lead will be the member of a core group that will design and develop important enterprise systems. The position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating standards, practices, reference models and solution patterns. The position will also be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance. The position will provide mentorship and guidance to on-shore and off-shore developers. The candidate must be forward thinking and self starter.
Leadership
- Provides technical guidance and direction to team
- The expert on how the whole system works from web server to mainframe and can explain how the system functions from the process level to the business logic and the expected out come of any function
- Oversees technical work prioritization in order to meet established deadlines
- Helps organize knowledge transfer to new team members
- Looks for areas where Global Resources can be used effectively
- Identifies solutions and facilitates meetings and the communications for complex issues/outages
- Acts as the technical liaisons to clients & vendors
- Participates in technical lead community to define standards/procedures
- Mentors and coaches other developers by giving advice, assigning work assignments that match their development plan and offering praise.
- Performs quality assurance on all technical deliverables
