Role: AZURE Architect
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 6+ months
Detailed Responsibilities: ¿ Phase 1 ¿ Application Team Engagement
1. Review reference architecture with application architects and lead developers
2. Review DA Azure onboarding process
3. Review FFU/JRA process
4. Complete Intake Form
5. Create administrators and subscription owner
6. Update Media Wiki and DA Azure Onboarding Guide
7. Set up subscriptions
8. Train application teams ¿
Phase 2 ¿ Application Onboarding
1. Conduct technical orientation
2. Set up workstations and access
3. Review application architecture and advise on Azure Resource Management (ARM) template to use
4. Create a baseline for specialized ARM impact
5. Review app team configurations and make recommendations
6. Define deployment architecture
7. Coordinate workshop with Microsoft to do a managed services deep dive as needed
8. Identify all dependencies needed to support application migration
9. Establish monitoring
10. Review security best practices specific to Azure
11. Help prepare for security assessments
12. Set up test subscription build
13. Set up Common Services accounts
14. Submit Redmine and/or VersionOne tickets to prepare environments
15.Capture and describe potential risks for system requirements that aren¿t ready in production yet. Determine and document how to get this missing or feature modification created (whether it¿s with Microsoft or internal
16. Proof of concept support for a specific service (i.e. Data Lake)
17. Review and approve Disaster Recovery (DR) plan
Phase 3 ¿ Production Validation & Testing
1. Build test and/or user acceptance test subscription in DA Azure
2. Review implementation plan and provide direction as needed
3. Finalize deployment architecture
4. Provide guidance on FFU/JRA production approval process and review necessary artifacts that the team needs to develop.
5. Ensure dependencies are being managed and coordinated.
6.Facilitate and validate handoff to Production Operations or appropriate incident management team.
