Job Title: AWS Architect
Location: Rockville, MD
Duration: 6 months C2H

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an AWS Architect with 3 years AWS specific experience, 8 years infrastructure architecture experience, and a Bachelor''s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline. The candidate should have a strong background in Windows and Linux based Systems, backup and storage administration, infrastructure performance and availability and public and private cloud environments.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Design, implement and maintain all AWS infrastructure and services within a managed service environment.
Design, Deploy and maintain enterprise class security, network and systems management applications within an AWS environment.
Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for an AWS managed service environment.
Continual re-evaluation of existing stack and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance, availability and security.
Implement process and quality improvements through task automation. Institute infrastructure as code, security automation and automation or routine maintenance tasks.
Compliance with federal security requirements such as FISMA and FedRAMP and remediation of security weaknesses.
Perform data migration from on premises environments into AWS
Support the business development lifecycle (Business Development, Capture, Solution Architect, Pricing and Proposal Development)

Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills) / Required Skills:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification
Extensive experience with AWS (AWS Cloud Formation, AWS EC2, S3, VPC, etc
Strong knowledge of data migration (to public cloud) practices and technologies.
Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.
Knowledge of federal security requirements: NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.
Strong knowledge of network technologies and concepts
Strong background in Linux
Experience with Nagios or similar monitoring tool.
Scripting experience (Ruby, Python, Bash, etc
Experience with Web Services (SOAP, RESTful, etc
Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance prior to start of work
Must have resided in the United States a minimum of three (3) of the past five (5) years
