Duration: 6 months

Type: Contract to Hire (after 6 Months)

Job Description

This role is responsible for Designing, deploying dynamically scalable,
highly available, highly reliable and fault-tolerant systems on the AWS
Cloud platform for migration of existing applications.
This role will include client facing meetings in which solutions are
discussed. Architect will develop the new solution and will perform the
initial setup with a plan to optimize leveraging AWS services in the future.
Also train the operational team whom will oversee production application and
infrastructure of specific setup for continuous support.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and implementation of AWS migration solution to
meet business requirements
2. Define Migration strategy to move application to cloud
3. Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation.
Create bill of materials, including required Cloud Services (such as EC2, S3
etc and tools;
4. Design the overall Virtual Private Cloud VPC environment
including server instance, storage instances, subnets, availability zones,
etc
5. Design the AWS network architecture including VPN connectivity
between regions and subnets
6. Validate the environment to meets all security and compliance
controls
7. Create documentation around the setup and implementation of those
design patterns
8. Provide technical oversight, review and quality control of AWS
artifacts throughout the project
9. Contribute to the development of AWS standards, best practices
and organizational capability
10. Engage with AWS around solving business and technical problems in
the AWS ecosystem
11. Act as an escalation point / SME for AWS technical issues and
decisions

Required skills and experience:-

1. Broad project lifecycle experience - especially in enterprise
environments
2. Expert knowledge of AWS platform features and capabilities - In
depth knowledge of key AWS services like EC2, S3 etc.
3. Proven experience assessing client''s workloads and technology
landscape for Cloud suitability, develop business case and Cloud adoption
roadmap
4. Experience in:
defining new architectures and ability to drive project from
architecture standpoint
Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, reverse proxies, routing, switching
etc
Security (firewall configuration, IPS/IDS etc
Developing High available or distributed processing platforms
Designing for disaster recovery
Provisioning and spinning up AWS Clusters
Building scalable production systems (load balancers, memcached,
master/slave architectures)
Producing multi-tiered, loadbalanced, redundant infrastructure
architectures
Using AWS Cloud Formation or automated deployment/configuration
tools (e.g. Chef/Puppet)
5. Full understanding of:
elasticity and scalability concepts
network technologies as they relate to AWS
security features and tools that AWS provides and how they relate
to traditional services
AWS deployment and management services
Interacting with AWS (AWS SDK, AWS API, Command Line Interface,
AWS CloudFormation)
6. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
7. Certification on AWS architecture desirable
