Position:-AIX admin
Location:-Berlin, CT
Contract:- 6+ months
Required LinkedIn Id mandatory.
Minimum years of experience:-8+Year
Must Have Skill:-
IBM p-series systems ( p7, p8)
Build and manage VIO servers.
Installation/configuration of a clustered, high availability environment using PowerHA and other clustering softwares.
Virtualization (LPAR/DLPAR)
Remote server build tools and process (NIM)
Shell scripting (shell/PERL/python)
OS recovery / Disaster recovery
ITIL processes (incident, problem, change) and working in a process oriented environment is a must
Nice to Have:-
Unix technologies e.g. Solaris, Linux (Redhat, Suse, Ubuntu) will be a plus
Responsibilities:-
Lead and direct deployment/migration of LPARS from old IBM p-series frames to new frames
Technical Management of pre-cutover, during and post cutover tasks
Troubleshooting and resolution of all issues. Responsible for resolving all issues pertaining to AIX migrations in a timely manner with proper resolution & communication.
Co-ordinate and manage migrations/cutovers aligning to ITIL and Client processes.
Document and provide best practices on maintenance and configuration documentation of migrated systems
Security vulnerability remediation and patching to desired TL/SP levels of new/migrated AIX LPARs
Vendor co-ordination and liaising
