Job Description
The Ab- initio Platform Developer position will fill a key role on the team to provide design, development and implementation of Ab Initio and Big Data ETL processes – both in support of existing code as well as development of new functionalities. The person that fills this position will be responsible for the design and development through a complete System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of Extract, Transform & load (ETL) processes using Ab-initio as ETL environment.
The successful candidate will be versed in the Ab Initio suite of development tools (Acquire>It, Express>It, GDE etc and have knowledge/experience with Big Data technology and concepts. They should also have strong communication skills and be able to collaborate with technical and non-technical partners. The candidate will have the opportunity to thrive in a flexible/agile application development environment.
Experience in Design and Development of DW and ETL solutions using Ab-Initio.
Expert level knowledge and expertise with Ab Initio eco system tools.
Develop patterns, guidelines and methods using Big data and Ab Initio to manage data assets across the data lifecycle, from creation / acquisition through archival and purge.
Performance tuning of complex Ab Initio graphs to help meet processing SLAs.
Hands on experience with number of techniques involved in ETL and Data integration space including ability to Design highly efficient end-to-end large scale ETL solutions.
Create complex technical solutions and design utilizing Ab Initio and big data technologies
Experience creating highly efficient reusable frameworks and design patterns in Ab Initio.
Demonstrated knowledge across full suite of Ab Initio toolsets e.g. GDE, EME, ,Acquire>It Express>It, Data Profiler and Conduct>It.
Required Qualifications
Minimum education required: Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science/Engineering
8+ years of application development and implementation experience
3+ years of Ab Initio experience
3+ years of SQL experience
1+ years of Big data Hadoop experience
Desired Qualifications
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
1+ years of Hadoop experience
2+ years of Agile experience
5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
3+ years of application production support experience
4+ years of relational database experience
Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames
Experience with scheduling tools like Auto Sys
Working knowledge of Teradata or Oracle
