Our direct client is looking for a Education industry Senior Data Analysis, Visualization expert using SQL/T-SQL for a Contract in Harrisburg, PA.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Help design and analyze educational data sets to understand ecosystems, student behaviors, and long-term trends
- Advocate for strong analytical methodologies and metadata standards across the organization
- Assist with the definition, evaluation, and calculation of key educational performance metrics
- Help foster a culture of data-informed analytical evaluation to improve education
- Sit at the intersection between technology, policy, and executive leadership to inform, influence, and support data informed decisions on educational policy
- Build complex data sets and visualizations to empower operational and exploratory analysis asking creative questions to expose hidden insights in the data and inform decisions impacting millions of students
Technology Expertise:
- Expert level knowledge of SQL / T-SQL for Data Analysis, including Windowed Functions, Pivot/Unpivot operations, Query Execution Plan Optimization, Index Design, database-level descriptive statistics, and database introspection through system tables and views
- SQL Server 2016
- Tableau 10.2+ and experience with Data Visualization best practices and visual analysis
- Scripting languages or ETL tools for automating data preparation tasks (e.g., Python, R, etc
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with education data standards, state/federal reporting requirements for K-12 educational entities or higher education
Bonus:
- Experience with eScholar Complete Data Warehouse for Students
Skill Set:
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data, multi-task, and produce results independently or collaboratively in a team environment
- Capable of in taking and integrating large sets of information from multiple sources, formulate/validate hypotheses, make recommendations, and summarizing complex data nuances to senior stakeholders
- Experience extracting data from a variety of sources, and a desire to expand those skills
- Willing to learn new technologies and methods related to data analytics, data visualization and statistical analysis
- Thinks holistically to create innovative scalable solutions to data analysis problems
SKILLS MATRIX:
