Our direct client is looking for a Project Manager for a Long Term Contract position in Harrisburg, PA.
Summary:
Client''s Information Technology Department (IT) is seeking to contract a full-time, on-site, Communications Systems Project Manager resource for a period of twelve (12) months in support of a variety of communication technology initiatives, with the option to extend for an additional twelve (12) months incrementally or all at once. This resource will assist the Manager of Communication Systems or designee on various communication technology projects, both operational and strategic in nature.
Project Description:
Communication technology projects include, but are not limited to, Intercom Replacement, Data Center Network Upgrade, Ongoing Telecom upgrades, and Infrastructure (including Microwave) upgrades, and other technology projects required to support a Continuity of Operations (COOP) effort. This position will be responsible for multiple concurrent projects and their reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates the financial aspects of the project involving activities of internal and/or external staff engaged in multiple moderately complex IT projects.
- Develops and maintains project plans using established project management standards, procedures, and methodologies.
- Coordinates with business owners, analysts and other staff to define and refine the project scope.
- Develops work breakdown structures based on the project objectives and scope.
- Performs project management duties through the entire project lifecycle, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.
- Conducts lessons learned sessions during and after projects to identify recommendations for improvement.
- Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
- Coordinate project staff and resource allocation
- Maintain communications and report progress of the project with all stakeholders
Skills Matrix:
- Expertise in Fiber, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Wireless, and Unified communication technology projects of various size and subject matter - Required - 7 Years
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written - Required - 10 Years
- Resource must demonstrate independence, be self-motivated, and have the ability to manage workload with little oversight - Required - 7 Years
- Strong problem solving, trouble shooting, and analytical skills - Required - 7 Years
- Interpersonal skills, ability to work in a dynamic team environment - Required - 7 Years
- Adheres to schedules and project timelines and communicates issues/problems that may impact ability to meet objectives - Required - 7 Years
- ITIL / ITSM practices and methodologies - Nice to have
- 4 Year Collage Degree - Nice to have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification - Nice to have
