Our direct client is looking for a Business Analyst cum Project Manager for a Contract position in Harrisburg, PA.
Role Description:
This position is responsible for helping to manage the Education Data and Calculations (EDC) project, for writing all functional requirements, and for writing all test cases. The EDC project consists of the development of separate modules to automate various education subsidy calculations and the data that they require. Each module takes four to six months to implement fully, and several modules are being developed at the same time. Since this project is in process already, it is important that the candidate become quickly familiar with what has been developed to date and be able to understand complex calculations for the modules yet to be developed. This position is accountable to the application team section chief and the application development manager.
Job duties include:
- Assist with developing the project schedule for each module and keeping it updated
- Track project progress against the schedule
- Work with technical lead to adjust and revise estimates and schedules as needed
- Develop estimates for requirements and testing phases
- Ensure all changes follow processes outlined in the change management plan and are documented
- Assist with the preparation of project status reports
- Help to identify, track, and address project issues
- Conduct and document user requirement meetings
- Develop functional requirements that fulfill the requirements of the business
- Create screen or report mockups
- Create and document workflows
- Develop graphical representations of complex business processes
- Develop report and extract specifications
- Walk through requirements to ensure user understanding before signoff
- Follow-up with users on outstanding questions
- Develop test cases that adequately test the implementation of requirements
- Use Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) to document and track requirements and test cases
- Schedule and conduct user acceptance testing
- Communicate effectively with business users, management, and the development team
- Follow existing application development methodology and standards
