Job Description :
Our direct client is looking for multiple C++, trading applications, financial venue protocols engineer for permanent / contract position in New York, NY / Austin, TX / Waterloo, Canada / Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and release state-of-the-art C++ components and applications for mission-critical, high-performance, globally distributed systems
- Work with technical leads and experts to understand financial venue protocol specifications
- Communicate directly with financial venues to establish connectivity and verify functionality
- Use Company’s test infrastructure to develop automated/repeatable tests to efficiently validate components on a continual basis
- Rapidly debug, fix and release critical software components running in production
- Create and track project plans. Convey project status, issues, and risks effectively
- Be a team player—share information openly, help others, be open to new ideas

Requirements for Contract and Permanent positions:
- Exceptional C++ programming skills (at least 5 years exp): Required
- Exceptional distributed systems programming skills: Required
- Experience developing mission-critical, high-performance systems: Plus
- Experience with real-time distributed systems and fast-cycle version iterations: Plus
- Experience with Python, Perl, Linux, Win 32, and/or UNIX/Solaris: Plus
- Experience doing Engineering for Server Side Software: Plus
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc: Required

- Experience with low-latency adaptors to financial broker/exchange APIs (e.g. price feeds, order execution): Big plus
- Experience with financial software and/or financial trading, especially in fixed income: Plus
- Experience with financial broker/exchange APIs (e.g. price feeds, order execution): Plus
- Experience with FIX API: Plus
- Experience with FIX Protocol: Plus
- Experience with either FI (Fixed Income) or FX (Foreign Exchange): Plus
- Experience developing real-time market data or order processing software: Plus

- Exceptional problem-solving skills: Required
- Ability to learn a new industry and technology quickly
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
- Strong self-management skills, initiative, and ability to juggle multiple disparate projects
- Candidates will face stringent technical interviews

Additional requirement for Permanent position:
- Lead and mentor junior developers
- Familiarity with SQL and databases
- Excellent grasp of software engineering principles, life cycle, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; Masters preferred
