Caterpillar’s Innovation and Technology Development Division is currently seeking a Robotics Perception Verification & Test Lead Engineer at its Pittsburgh Automation Center in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role you will work on the exciting and technically challenging Automation Systems Development team. Specific job duties:
Create test frameworks including developing test plans, test scripts, generate test results and provide reports to the software developers and team leads. Develop various tests such as unit, integration, regression, stress tests as well as subsystem integration and machine tests
Create test cases against requirements, run tests and report on the results for features such as personnel detect, object detection, tracking, classification, terrain mapping, localization and others
Develop software tools and scripts to aid in perception software test execution and reporting
Create test scenarios around the machines at Pittsburgh Automation Center and operate equipment to run the tests
Travel up to 10% to proving grounds, customer sites.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer vision, Robotics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 year post graduation industry experience in testing computer vision, perception systems, or testing for autonomous systems
Experience in software testing/development in these languages/environments: C++, Python and Linux OS
Experience in testing field robotics
Demonstrated working experience on a team
Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment (Doesn’t need prior training, we will train)
