ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze and tune routing and switching systems for performance, throughput, resource utilization, high availability, and scalability
Review of network infrastructure systems to ensure adequate capacity, performance levels, and upgrade requirements
ACL rule creation and maintenance within Cisco firewalls
Provide day-to-day management of the network infrastructure to ensure security, availability, and uptime meet business SLA’s
Maintain and configure VOIP Infrastructure (SIP Trunk, Routers, Unity, Call Manager, UCCX, Presence)
Provide network and host-based security, incident response, firewall, and VPN management and administration
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions; experience with Qradar and NetFlow traffic analysis a plus
Provide guidance on architecture to ensure adherence to security requirements
Monitor and evaluate network performance and makes recommendations to improve overall performance. Ensures production and pre-production network are proactively monitored 24x7.
Perform routine diagnostics and maintenance, and install/implement new hardware or software as it relates to network infrastructure
Perform packet analysis to identify and remediate security and performance issues
Participate in disaster recovery and fault tolerance management and testing
Maintain vendor relations and ensures vendor is performing tasks as requested
Manage and ensure change control is being followed and tracked for network infrastructure
Provide escalation support to other system administrators
Provide ad hoc assistance as needed
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related IT field, and/or 4+ years of experience working within a diverse IT network infrastructure
Industry certifications (e.g. CCNA / CCNP) related to this position a plus
Previous experience with F5 a plus
Previous experience with Palo Alto firewall a plus
In-depth knowledge of network device administration and multi-tier application production operations
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications configuration and support
Thorough understanding of DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP, SMTP, VTP, Cisco Access Lists, Policy Based Routing and routing protocols
Responsible for 24x7 support of all network infrastructure and hardware
Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies
Intermediate to expert with install, configure, troubleshoot, and support of LAN, WAN, and Wireless networks
Intermediate to expert understanding of firewall configuration and maintenance
Experience maintaining an enterprise-level infrastructure, including fiber optic and wireless
Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to mentor and knowledge transfer to team members
Self-motivated, self-directed, and attention to detail while working with data
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute reporting tasks in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a diverse team of business and IT staff
