-Postgres
- Stored Procedures
Excellent communication skills needed
*HIGHLY DESIRABLE would love to get them at least one:
PostgreSQL/AWS experience
BUT
Will take a strong SQL Database resource who can write stored procedures
The front end application servers do not touch the databases, that is why they need to write stored procedures
Must be a strong communicator
This person will not be designing NEW
Our database platform in all on AWS, using either Postgres RDS or Aurora Postgres.
The role is focused primarily on development so the key points would be in the development/maintenance of stored procedures. A good understanding of backup and restore would be helpful, as our platform utilizes a database per product or client. One of the tasks we would expect the candidate to do is to be able to take a backup up of an existing database, restore it, then customize it for the new project. Also, would be helpful in moving databases from production to the development platforms.
Lastly, someone with experience in optimizing and tuning queries and stored procedures would be beneficial.
We''re not designing any new databases, however, they should be comfortable with being able to add a column, create a table, and add a view.
They may need to assist / support the ETL Developers, so an understanding of ETL would be helpful
