SQL DBA/Developer,

Kansas City, KS

Description:


Design and develop solutions for enterprise and departmental business intelligence (BI), data warehousing and reporting procedures.
Mid-level Database administration
Ability to troubleshoot performance issues impacting production databases including Performance Tuning and Query Optimization using native SQL Server and RedGate tools
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
Participate in discussions involving the application creation and understand the requirements and provide the back-end functionality for the applications.
Create functions and stored procedures to provide custom functionality as per the requirements.
Ad-hoc query generation using T-SQL
Install, Configuring, Patching and Upgrading SQL Server Database Servers
Work with users to identify and document both SQL and BI requirements and solutions.
Help define BI strategies and effectively communicate user requirements.
Responsible for physical and logical data modeling
Monitor and support High Availability Database server including Availability Groups and Replication.




Education and Experience


Bachelor’s Degree or HS Diploma with equivalent working experience is required
Strong SQL coding skills (SQL Server/T-SQL), including stored procedures is required
SQL Server DBA production experience is required (2008/2016)
SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) expertise is required
Experience managing a data warehouse and data marts is a plus
Strong ETL skills (Flat File, Web Service, FTP, Web API) is a plus
Experience with data modeling including normalization, logical and physical designs.
Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, DBCC commands, Database mirroring, Replication.
Knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching and statistics
Knowledge of native SQL Server tools (Profiler, SSMS, DMVs, and system stored procedures
Windows Server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology etc
Database Security
Technical documentation skills
