Job Description: Security Systems Engineer
This position will be responsible for the support of the overall IT infrastructure. This will include systems troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair along with the administration, operations, and support all aspects of the organization’s technology operations. This position is a very comprehensive one that requires a seasoned individual, who has experience and skills in most areas of modern technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hands on administration of the daily operations of the infrastructure to assure that critical business systems meet or exceed expectations including, but not limited to, architecture, engineering, project management and emergency response\repairs.
Supports aspects of a datacenter, which include servers, infrastructure, SAN Storage, VMWare, and networking – CISCO. General understanding of core IT infrastructure, best practices, and implementation strategies (security, GPO, high-availability) and understands aspects of datacenter technologies and how they integrate with each other.
Work with both internal and external clients across all levels to provide the best customer service that is effective and efficient with a focus on the desired outcome.
The ability to work in teams while communicating and managing multi-faceted relationships with third party vendors, contractors, service providers, technical support representatives, etc.
Assist the Senior Manager of Infrastructure with the development and implementation of the company’s IT disaster recovery plan including system backups, restoration and the maintenance thereof that will protect confidentiality of our clients and their inhabitants.
What we’re looking for:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
4 - 6 years comprehensive IT experience and knowledge.
Understanding Windows update/patching process
Deep understanding of Windows Server
Understanding of Microsoft WSUS
Develop plans and perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as patch management and application hotfixes
Strong desire to learn about our infrastructure and new technologies
AWS experience, including but not limited to EC2, ELB, and Auto Scaling Groups
Deep systems knowledge within the Microsoft Windows ecosystem
Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise
Microsoft Active Directory, policies, rights, etc.
Red Hat Linux.
Assistance of large-scale and multi-tiered web site/services across geographically dispersed locations with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies
Microsoft Exchange and email related technologies (i.e. protocols, proxy, DNS, etc
Enterprise level LAN/WAN network design, configuration and troubleshooting.
Backup systems including virtual, bare metal, database, file, etc.
Bonus points if you have:
Deep experience in SCCM\SCOM Administration
Powershell scripting
Hyper converged / SDDC experience to administrate and improve our virtual environments.
Cisco Voice Experience
Working knowledge of: Apache, BASH, Database platforms, Octopus, Jenkins, DevOps and CI/CD type concepts
