Citrix VDI Engineer

Title: VDI Engineer
OVERVIEW:
The VDI engineer will be responsible for design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the organization''s VDI technologies. This person must be very strong in technical design and troubleshooting of complex Citrix environments. This person must be able to document, present complex VDI architectures and decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Provide engineering leadership and subject matter expertise in the evaluation, development, and documentation of the VDI infrastructure and hosted/streamed applications

·Participate in the development of Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop architecture design and implementation across the organization.

·Maintain a highly available Citrix environment including optimization of entry points and the Citrix server performance optimization.

·Manage the security of the Citrix systems by following best practices methods for the applications and servers.

·Implement robust monitoring of the VDI environment using tools such as Citrix Director, Control Up and various other system monitoring tools

·Proactively monitor Citrix & virtual environment for capacity, stress, risk and workload and take necessary remediation steps.

·Manage/implement redundant systems and policies for Citrix disaster recovery.

·Work in collaboration with other departments or organizations to develop and analyze systems in support of their projects or mission, then upgrade or enhance service offering to meet these requirements.

EXPERIENCE:

·A bachelor''s degree or equivalent number of years of experience required

·5 to 7 years working in technology operations with a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, building and managing Citrix based solutions

·2 years'' experience with PowerShell

·Experience with Windows 10 desktop images

·Proficiency with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Citrix Netscalers, Provisioning Services, Storefront, and experienced in performing engineering for a global Citrix environment

·Strong knowledge of Windows server 2012/2016, NSX, Group policy management, DHCP, DNS, LDAP and AD

·Demonstrated ability in managing virtualization infrastructure on an enterprise scale including:

o   VMware ESX Server, Virtual Center, VMotion, P2V and disaster recovery procedures.

·Basic understanding of network topology and design

·Able to handle multiple, complex, long term projects simultaneously

·High degree of initiative, dependability and the ability to work with little supervision

·Prior law firm experience would be a plus.

·Experience with any of the following would also be a plus:

o   Storage solutions including fiber switching, NAS, and\\or SAN storage

o   Scripting abilities (Batch, VBS, Powershell)

o   Management of security platforms (RSA, Symantec, Trend Micro)

o   Exchange 2016 or other messaging platform
