Wet chemistry, solution prep, standard prep experience is a key skill the candidate needs to have.

Liquid chromatography and Gas chromatography would be a second

Dissolution and FTIR are a plus

Position Mission: The Assoc Chemist will perform a variety of technical procedures, such as preparing routine solution and reagents, routing reactions in a regulated laboratory environment. Individual will make and record observations; perform simple calculations, and collect and prepare data for evaluation. This individual will perform technical and recordkeeping duties in conformance with company policies and current Good Lab Practices (cGLP), technical procedures in Quality Control/Assurance and/or Research and Development.

Position Duties:
*Comply with all quality system requirements
*Execute, troubleshoot and improve defined test processes
*Document, and test data analysis results
*Participate on cross-functional teams for continuous improvement activities
*Communicate with team members to ensure schedule requirements are met
*Support investigations into aberrant test results
*Use development expertise in selected techniques and train others in those areas
*Help drive team to meet business goals
*Support development team as needed / commercial QC release
*Learn and understand the mfg organization that lab supports

Education, Skills and Experience Needed to Perform Position Function:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemistry, Biology or related technical discipline.
Bachelors and least 2 yrs of laboratory experience, or a Masters and 0 yrs of laboratory experience.
General wet chemistry laboratory techniques plus experience with: liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, dissolution, and infrared spectroscopy.
Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Desirable Qualifications to Perform Position Function:
Strong communication skills as demonstrated by documenting test results and working successfully in a dynamic team environment.
Ability to prioritize and execute on daily tasks, and long term objectives as demonstrated by self prioritizing and managing the majority of work requests.
Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) techniques.
Ability to train others on analysis techniques.


Physical Requirements Needed to Perform Position Functions:
Stand / sit / walk up to 8 hrs/day.
Perform experiments at bench height.
Light lifting / bending stretching to support test apparatus setup / teardown.
Use computer and phone and participate in meeting
