Job Description :
Duties   Product Operations is seeking an experienced, driven, results-oriented Program Manager to lead the definition of complex business processes, and to direct and ensure the outcome of those processes. This role will manage multiple complex projects and/or programs impacting business goals and objectives, and will lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in their development, planning, automation and implementation. The Program Manager will define priorities and resources allocated to initiatives or programs, and will plan and implement schedules and monitor project/program from inception through delivery. He/she will develop and manage communications with cross-functional team members and senior management in Engineering, Sales, Service and Support, and Finance, and may engage and oversee the work of external vendors. This role will maintain awareness of trends, business conditions and internal processes and practices impacting project/program deliverables. The Program Manager will have visibility across Akamai''s senior leadership as you report on the status of key Strategic Initiatives and their corresponding progress.    As a Program Manager you will be responsible for:   * Ensuring the smooth operation of the Cross-functional Strategic Initiative Process for the Products & Development Group. * Identifying, coordinating and providing training for enhancements to the process. * Tracking follow up on process dependencies and communicate status to upper management and required stakeholders within Akamai. * Identifying areas of risk/opportunity, and influencing and implementing continuous improvements to the process. * Defining and reporting on program status, issues and success metrics. * Providing guidance and best practices to successfully drive initiatives through the process. * Providing work direction, training and development to other cross-functional team members. * Collaborating on tools and business systems required to support the process. * Participating in user acceptance of systems. * Working closely with the Product Line Directors and VPs to understand priorities, influence decisions, propose solutions and ensure success of the process. * Managing cross functional team(s) and subject matter expert with representatives from Engineering, Sales, Service and Support, Finance, Operations, and others in the establishment, planning and implementation of multiple projects and/or programs. * Evaluating high level business problems to identify and execute logical programs and solutions to solve the problem.
Required Skills * 2+ years of experience with Program or Project Management or equivalent experience, ideally in a Product Management capacity. Desired Skills * Strong written and verbal communication * Confidence leading large cross-functional initiatives at a management level. * Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a wide range of constituencies in a diverse corporate and client environment. * Solid knowledge of program and project management principles and practices, PMP certification a plus. * Expertise in business process automation best practices. * Knowledge and familiarity with business metrics and business operations. * Skilled in issue management and resolution. * Able to manage numerous conflicting priorities.  * Detail and action-oriented self-starter.  * Expertise with project management tools/systems and product life-cycle.  * High-tech/internet industry experience preferred, but not required.   Top Skills Needed for the role: Skill 1 – Strong written and verbal communication Skill 2 – Outstanding problem solver Skill 3 – Detail and action-oriented self-starter
