Position Title: SILC (Southern Indiana Logistic Centre) Quality Assurance Technician

Description:

Lead and support Cummins Quality processes at one of its warehouses -Southern Indiana Logistic Centre (SILC Responsible for materials transactions on Cummins information systems (Oracle, CQMS, QSI, MRB Issues log, etc related to Cummins Quality processes. Manages, assist, or coordinates quality sorting projects, vendor returns, customer returns, freight damages and customer complain. This person will be the main Cummins Quality contact at the warehouse for cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to manage, coordinate or address quality projects or issues at SILC warehouse- this warehouse is manager by a 3rd party, this person will be the main CES Quality Cummins representative on site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support daily Cummins Quality processes to ensure a dependable and efficient material flow at the warehouse
* Manage daily, Non-Conformance material events, ensuring quick and proper physical and systemic segregation
* Effective Non-Conformance material segregation and coordination on both information systems (MMS & Oracle) in coordination with 3rd party logistic providers Quality representative.
* Daily CQMS data entry for Non-Conformance material and product at the warehouse
* Initiate Return Material Authorization (RMA) in coordination with materials planning, Quality team and Finance
* Managing and update operational Non-Conformance KPI''s for the warehouse
* Daily materials transaction of Non-Conformance material in Oracle ERP system
* Daily update of quality issues on Material Revision Board (MRB) report
* Assist, support and coordinate quality sorts at the warehouse ensuring product integrity and inventory control prevail
* Provide Non-Conformance reliable information on timely manner to Cummins business stakeholders who have products coming to that warehouse
* Inform and/or escalate quality issues or concerns of Cummins operations/processes at the warehouse
* Assist, help and support six sigma, spot kaizen, value stream maps and continues improvement workshops
* Review, validate and update Cummins Quality processes at the warehouse with Cummins business stakeholders
* Support and assist Cummins internal audits at the warehouse
* Assist and support Cummins product damage on transportation and initiate freight damage claim
* Support and assist CAR''s and A3s actions plan follow-up at the warehouse
* Support and assist any other Cummins initiative or activity at the warehouse approved by your direct supervisor
* Manage and coach, the 3rd party warehouse service provider''s personnel on Cummins Non-Conformance material processes and requirements
* Promote safe and right work environment at the warehouse

Position Requirements:

* High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
* One year of experience in Quality processes and systems.
* Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is an absolute must!!
* Problem solving training or certification is a plus
* ERP and Quality System training or experience is preferred but not required. Extensive training will be provided for this role.
* Good communication and presentation skills are very important as the selected hire will be working with a diverse group of people.
* Time management and organization skills including extreme attention to detail is critical and very important to this position.

* Quality System Development, Implementation and Verification - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement.
* Plan, Control and Assure Product and Process Quality (was Inspection and Audit) - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement.
* Problem Solving - Understand quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement. Able to demonstrate use of these approaches. CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), or with 2 years experience in this area.
* Five Core Tools: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement Please note that this is not a mandatory requirement but it''s a plus
* Six Sigma - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement Please note that this is a plus not a mandatory requirement
* Product or Service Familiarization Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement.
* Project management - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement.
* Basic computer skills including MS Office, Notes, QSI and CQMS - Understand quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement. Able to demonstrate use of these approaches. CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), or with 2 years experience in this area.
* Knowledge of the applicable standards for the organization (i.e., ISO/TS, etc - Knowledge of basic quality management philosophies (e.g. Deming) and tasks such as understanding customer and business needs, basic goal setting, planning processes and the use of results and customer satisfaction data for improvement.

Additional information from the manager:

* Extensive training, up to 3 months of time will be invested in getting the selected candidate up to speed in this role. As part of the hire''s training, travel (up to 5% of the time) to Mineral Point or Janesville, WI will be needed.

* This is a First shift position with working hours of 8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST. The manager shared that he can be a little flexible on the star and end times as needed. Manager shared that this position requires a person to work a lot of overtime during the week and overtime on either Saturdays and/or Sundays will be needed often.

* Some physical activity including bending, twisting and lifting (up to 50 pounds) will be needed on occasion. This will be rare occasion but important to add here to be shared with candidates when talking with candidates.

* When the manager is ready to interview, if a candidate is available for an in-person meeting, the manager would like the candidate to come in for an on-site meeting. If a candidate is not local, he is open to having a phone interview with that candidate.
