Job Description :
LOCATION: Open to candidates in both MN and NC.

The Product Analyst / Business Analyst plays a critical role during the full lifecycle management of technology products. Reviews product performance, assesses markets as well as competitive landscape to facilitate or influence changes to the product portfolio to improve the competitive position and optimal product performance. May work with internal or external business constituents to determine the product future direction or respond to product inquiries. May be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions.

PROJECT: Optum will be expanding on the existing application that automatically approves prior authorization requests for injectable chemotherapy by adding oral chemotherapy medications and specialty drugs. Optum will also be building a commercial product to service multiple payers and will be looking to enhance the medical necessity review process that exists today for manual review of prior authorizations.

Position Responsibilities:
Market & Constituent Analysis
o Establish comprehensive understanding of the core competencies / business capabilities that distinguish us in the marketplace (e.g., key differentiators)
o Identify opportunities to build new or enhance existing business capabilities to stay competitive

Product Strategy Definition
o Define market segments and perform appropriate analysis necessary to support definition of targeted product strategies
o Define required business cases that clearly demonstrate Why we need to invest in building new / enhancing existing business capabilities to realize product visions / strategies

Product Planning
o Define appropriate product / business plans for approved investments
o Ensure alignment/linkage between business and product plans with product strategies.
o Lead relevant sessions to understand constituent (user / buyer) characteristics and develop business requirements (including user stories, journey maps, scenario analysis) that will help realize product vision / strategy
o Establish clear understanding of all the business services that will be delivered by the technology product and associated service level requirements or SLRs
o Support the definition of organizational change and related plans to ensure successful product launch
o Ensure that appropriate service level agreements are defined for all the business services that will be delivered by the technology product(s)
o Ensure proper training across all users and other stakeholders for new / enhanced products

Product Management & Support
o Monitor and evaluate product performance on an ongoing basis against the agreed service level targets
o Support relevant IT and business stakeholders to ensure appropriate resolution of identified incidents / problems
o Provide consulting on proposed product customizations, based on specific customer or market requirements, evolving business needs, or service level target breaches
o Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements.
o Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems.
o Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses.

Qualifications
? 2+ years business analysis or equivalent experience working on high profile, large-scale product launches.
? 2+ years experience in directing cross-functional and/or cross-profit center product delivery teams.
? 2+ years experience in the HealthCare industry.
? Ideal candidate will have at 1+ years experience in the PBM industry.
? Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.
