Primary Responsibilities of the FOX Application Architect include:
? Develop the overall vision for the FOX Claims application architecture and end-state architecture in collaboration with the solution architecture and enterprise architecture teams
? Tie architectural vision together across all streams of work that impact FOX Claims
? Support Operations/IT Solution Managers/EAs/Developers/QA/Managers/Executives as FOX Claims Architecture Subject Matter Expert
? Define standards for FOX Claims application architecture
? Define purpose for application, and functionalities within application
? Assist in evaluation, recommendation and integration of tools with application
? Assist in building relationship with Optum IT around support
? Build relationship with Optum IT, Enterprise and solution architects, vendors and other application counterparts to align the technical solutions of the application strategically with the enterprise as well as the industry
? Provide Subject Matter Expertise in Product Lifecycle Management activities
? Maintain architectural documentation working within standards defined
? Mentor & provide Subject Matter Expertise to the development teams as needed
For all architecturally significant/technically risky requirements or technical projects and SCRs, participate in the following activities:
Providing Architectural guidance and clarifying scope/objectives for projects
Production and maintenance of architecture documents with SA/EA
Identification of functional and cross system impacts
Identification of key testing needs
Working with Delivery Managers and scrum masters to help determine work estimate
Recommendation of design improvements to critical functions
Ensure adherence to, and suggest improvements to align with architectural vision
? Use a consultative approach to solving problems
? Collaborate with the business to understand / influence requirements to use technology as a way to improve member experience
? Demonstrate understanding of cross - functional / cross - domain requirements and impact
? Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies / products / trends related to architectural solutions.
? Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, etc

What skills/attributes are a must have
Following are required qualifications -
? Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or similar field
? 8+ years of experience in IT Application Architecture role.
? Scaled agile and/or enterprise wide architecture experience
? An understanding of security, network, and cloud infrastructure techniques and how they apply to delivery.
? 6+ years of hands - on experience in delivering multi - tier web based applications
? 5+ years in a role that made decisions across an enterprise, and not just one or two business units
? Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
? Proven experience initiating, facilitating, and embracing change and transformation
? Experience operationalizing web based systems that meet service levels, protect and secure our members data and privacy, and are easy to use
? Experience presenting solution vision/direction in front of a large audience, and motivate that audience to deliver on a shared vision
What skills/attributes are nice to have
? Healthcare industry experience
? Team leadership or team management experience
? Experience prototyping and performance tuning applications deployed across multiple operating systems, languages and computing platforms
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Experience creating and presenting appropriate models to communicate with stakeholders
