Title- Engineering Manager
Location- Boston MA
Contract to hire- no sponsorship available

The Engineering Manager serves as the Agile program leader and will be responsible for leading the Agile transformation and for the successful execution of an Agile team. The Engineering Manager to support a scrum team and the over-all delivery and reporting within their Programs. This position requires individuals who have previously been successful Scrum Masters and/or Agile Coaches on highly distributed teams, have led Agile/Scrum adoption in the past, and have experience in software delivery as well as those who can drive and influence change and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
? Accountable for the delivery and reporting of one to many Scrum Teams within a Program
? Establishing execution best practices (deployment planning, scrum ceremonies, etc)
? Work with other program leaders to drive the definition and refinement of the program backlog
? Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to the Scrum Masters and Engineers on the teams
? Ensure cross-value stream coordination and collaboration
? Serve as an escalation for impediment removal for the team
? Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on program-level progress and quality
? Act as a liaison to assigned program manager and project managers. Take responsibility for managing dependencies between the program team and third parties, release managers, or between the team and other scrum teams.
? Develop, coach, and mentor team members to advance their skills and career
? Share insights with the methodology team based on experiences with software delivery teams to spread best practices and improvements across the company
? Work cross functionally to align strategy, methodology and execution
? Be a change agent and foster a learn by doing environment

Required Qualifications:
? Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent experience
? 5+ years of IT experience including development
? 2+ years of experience providing leadership to a team (team lead, scrum master, coach, etc)
? 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple Scrum team projects
? Experience with user story and/or task tracking systems (CA Agile, Trello, Jira, etc)
? Understanding of basic fundamentals of iterative development
? Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
? Understanding of backlog tracking, burn down metrics, velocity, and task definition
? Understanding of incremental delivery and the value of metrics
? Excellent English communication skills in written and spoken form
? Solid interpersonal skills, passion around facilitation, empowerment, and servant leadership
? Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
