Description:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, documenting, and communicating solutions that meet the needs of business partners in the healthcare industry. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into IT functional designs that can be consumed and turned into a working application by the technical delivery teams. Designs will consist of data models, flow charts, system interaction diagrams, user interfaces, API definition, business examples, and many other pieces of documentation needed to ensure that the system meets the needs of the healthcare industry.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with the business to understand/influence business requirements with a focus on digital assets including web portals and mobile applications
Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact You will maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solution
Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives
Identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on system
Facilitate/lead/participate in identification of solution options and feature
Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews)
Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs
Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed
Maintain awareness of current technology assets and the capability of each
Understand and adhere to architecture governance framework
Deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience translating Business Requirements into system solutions/design and documenting those solutions
3+ years of experience with relational database design/schema
3+ years of design experience on enterprise level applications including application logic design
Experience architecting solutions for web portals and mobile applications emphasizing use of APIs, micro-services and other modern solution patterns and technologies
Experience with the following tools/techniques: ER Studio, Erwin, Microsoft Visio, Agile development, Java, SQL, XML, JSON, Enterprise Data Architect
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
Ability to understand the long-term (big picture) and short-term perspectives of situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
BS / BA in Engineering, Computer Science
Health care industry experience
