What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment?
Lead the design, planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of QSSI Network Infrastructure.
Responsibilities include QSSI LAN/WAN/iSCSI SAN/VPNs.
Implementation / upgrade of security appliances.
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of QSSI’s network and data.
Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents and audits.
Ensure system documentation is updated and accurate.

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)
Work with Help Desk and Managed Services teams to optimize corporate infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA
Recommend, design and deploy performance monitoring tools and tune the environment accordingly.
Meet or exceed corporate SLAs on availability and system capacity.
Participate in Configuration Management of Corporate IT environment.
Ensure that daily, monthly, quarterly and annual system sustainment procedures are followed.
Plan, execute and document infrastructure software / hardware updates.
Participate in Change Management control of QSSI Corporate IT assets.
Some travel required within the DC area and less than 10% within the Mid-Atlantic region.
What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities?
Strong IP networking skills
Strong virtual and appliance based Palo Alto
Familiarity of VMware networking
Cisco Certified Network Professional – strong familiarity with Cisco Ethernet switches (3850, 2960, Nexxus)
Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for 802.1x port level device authentication.

o Firewalls (5020, 3020, 500)
o IPS/IDS
o Anti-malware / Wildfire
o DLP
o Panorama
o Global Protect remote VPN
o B2B (aka IPSec site to site tunnels)
What skills/attributes are a must have?
Strong IP Networking experience.
Cisco Switching and Routing
Cisco ISE
Palo Alto Firewall and VPN portal
OSPF Routing
Windows Active Directory management
What skills/attributes are nice to have?
Can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Can mentor other network engineers and IT staff.
Can lead project teams and generate status reports.
Can gather project specifications from customers and create a plan to implement.
Create/maintain accurate system documentation.
Work closely with security team audits and track remediation plans to closure.
Experience with Big IP F5 LTM.
Microsoft certification
Where is the work to be performed? (Please list preferred Client facility, if other please specify i.e. remote work, rural, etc
Place of performance is in QSSI’s Columbia, MD office (MD044 All assets are remotely accessible. Some hands on work for implementation at Virginia and Georgia based data centers possible.


What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc)
Monday through Friday – 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time. Some maintenance / emergency support requires availability after normal business hours.
