Job Description:
This Pega Developer will be sitting within the Marketing organization. Specifically they will be a part of the Decision Platform and analytics team under Marketing at the bank. They support the various LOB’s to include Retail, Commercial, Commercial Card, Wealth and Equity. The support they provide is leveraging data to drive specific campaign objectives that each LOB is desiring to drive with their specific customers. This developer will be leveraged across a few different LOB’s. The LOB’s want more support – they have seen a great deal of success in the work that this team has completed and see the lift they are receiving when leveraging this team to direct campaigns to the most accurate audience.
The developers are shared a bit more than the BAs, so primary focus would be card, but they may develop for other products too. A typical day starts with looking at any new requirements docs that have been provided by the BAs, participating in a daily stand up call for status checks, and then developing within Pega. Partnering with both the BA, QA and other developers are required daily.
Ideally, I want someone with a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience in an IT or technical role and it would be preferable if they have a Pega certification. CCA or CSSA.
*MUST have experience in designer studio.
Notes from the manager:
This team is using Pega to aggregate data, sort the data to target the ideal customers and then make decisions based upon that data. The right person needs to be able to do end to end development in the tool and not just migrate data or work with one part of it like BPM
This group does NOT use case management and bpm parts of Pega like many do. This is primarily used to go find data, sort it and create insights.
- They use Pega to injest some files
- Pega develops activities, data flows, regular flow, data modeling, report definitions and strategies, working with Pega database data store
- They will be building report definitions off customer data, then build a data flow that kicks off strategies and conforms the data to the list of customers you want to target
-Some ETL work to pull data in from databases or other sources
-Experience with SQL or Oracle would make the job easier so they know how databases work and sort and join, etc.
-PEGA Designer studio and developer itself REQUIRED
Background with SQL, Oracle, DB2… they work a lot with databases and report definitions, what tables going for and what to join
