Position: Senior Network Engineer

Requirements

Education /Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related area or equivalent experience

7-10 years of experience Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator

In this role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the design and planning of network communication systems. Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conduct testing of network design.  Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.



Required Skills:

Solid background in network administration and architecture including experience with:

Firewalls (Fortinet), WiFi controllers (Cisco), Routing and switching, Remote Access (Cisco ASA, Cisco Webvpn and Cisco AnyConnect), Supporting F5, external DNS including issues with SMB, DKIM and DMARC, Support for Cisco switching structure, Connections to AWS and Azure

In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (EIGRP to OSPF and BGP)

Familiarity with access control models and network security

Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)

Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, Solarwinds network tools)

Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)

Desired Skills:

Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)

Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices

Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Maintain complete technical documentation

Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross training to other peers and team members

Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

QOS, IP Multicast, support for VOIP and Video over IP
