Job Description :
Under general supervision and guidance, the Senior IT Systems DBA is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex Database systems software at multiple Client Clinic sites.

The Senior IT Systems DBA will actively monitor and respond to technical database problems utilizing diagnostic testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall database capacity. He/she may interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.

The Senior IT Systems DBA will also be required to produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by the work unit leadership; develops proposals that consider alternatives and business case gains needed for comprehensive institutional consideration; works effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders. Work is reviewed upon completion for quality, timeliness, and adequacy in meeting objectives.

Ability to take responsibility and accountability for own activities. Possesses ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately.

Must possess human relations skills to interact with a variety of personnel. Evidence of strong communication & organizational skills, project management skills, strong communication and meeting management and organizational skills.

Performs consulting tasks, acts as an information resource and mentor in a supportive role.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor''s degree plus 3 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience OR Associate''s degree plus 5 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience.

A high school diploma and 7 years of demonstrated professional IT Systems DBA experience in a large, complex organization like Client Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree.
