Position: Certified Talend ETL Developer
Location: Dallas, TX (100% Remote Role)
Interview: Phone & Face 2 face (Skype possible)
Duration: 5+ months with possibility of extension (s)

Skills: Talend ETL Developer, MDM, Talend Data Integration v6 Certified Developer.

Description:
Master Data Management (MDM), application integrations, data quality, data verification, and enrichment.
This is an opportunity to practice all design and implementation capabilities for core ETL functions, and work in an interesting polyglot database environment, relational, document based, and others. Currently the core database is MySQL version 5.7 with extensive use of MySQL JSON objects.
We require hands-on Talend know how to access and manipulate these JSON objects.

This is not a typical “we need you to write some ETL scripts” kind of an endeavor. We require consultants with Talend architecture know-how.

o Make proper use of the Talend capabilities and make apt use of its components
o Talend jobs to be well architected and the architecture to be documented
o Write jobs that are scalable and run in optimal time
o Talend jobs to be testable (having test data, regression test scripts, and expected results)
o Design Talend jobs, test, and schedule them. Connect jobs to our monitoring system
o Reason on, and develop complex data transformation programs
o Develop ETL processes using Talend
o Design and develop data models and understand how to write ETL artifacts against them
o Maintain in-code and out-of-code design documentation
o Work with software development tools such as Talend Enterprise IDE, version control, documentation and collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira)
o Produce high quality code and participate in testing

Required Experience
o A minimum of 3 years of developing ETL processes using Talend including processing of NoSQL and JSON formats.
o Solid understanding of data warehouse technologies and concepts (e.g. star and snowflake schemas
o Data modeling (structured and unstructured), including slowly changing dimensions and other data warehouse concepts.
o SQL programming.
o Linux, scripting.
