It all started in the early 1980’s when he first got his hands on an Apple II. Those loud grinding 5 1/2 inch floppy drives, the external cassette drive, Math Blaster, and the venerable Oregon Trail were all of the things that caught the attention of this curious elementary school student in the early 80’s. While other kids were playing with Star Wars action figures, watching Knight Rider, or doing other fun things that kids did, Daniel was coding in BASIC trying to make that little green turtle (triangle) move around the screen on a Commodore 64.

Later on, he would go on to be the unofficial assistant computer repair guy at the school, assisting the computer instructor after hours with hardware and software related issues. During Middle and High School, Daniel honed his troubleshooting skills and watched a lot of MacGyver in his spare time. He eventually found his way into Apple Computers in Elk Grove, CA.

Over the course of 15 plus years, Daniel has been fortunate enough to work as an employee, contractor, and consultant to some of the best companies within their industry. He has taken lead roles as a Senior Consultant in large-scale enterprise environments and datacenters. His quick, practical, creative, and technically sound solutions have provided clients with manageable, efficient, scalable, and reliable environments for years to come.

Daniel specializes in data center solutions, virtualization, and enterprise business process improvements. His years of experience and his technical background have led him to earn various industry certifications with vendors such as VMware, Microsoft, CompTIA, PMI, and ITIL. He has a constant thirst for knowledge and an eagerness to teach others anything and everything he knows to anyone who will listen.

If you are fortunate to actually see Daniel in action, try to observe closely and if you listen very quietly, you may be able to hear him hum the title song of MacGyver while using his trusty Swiss Army Knife to solve some quirky problem, especially if time is of the essence.

Fun Fact #127: Daniel is on his second Swiss Army knife in over 25 years, he lost his first one on a carnival ride in 1994.

If the opening of Spider-Man (2002) has taught us anything, it is that the good stories always involve a girl. In this narrative, Daniel met that girl at Apple in 1997 and two years later he’d convince her to marry her. Today, after surviving through two Spider-Man sequels and another franchise reboot in the works, the two are blissfully married with two dogs living in the Grand Canyon State under desert heat of the Arizona sun.

Fun Fact #52: Daniel likes bacon. Hmmm, bacon.
