JOB DESCRIPTION:
6+ years of experience in the operations of a company’s internal data communications systems, including LANs and/or WANs
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Responsible for design and implementation of company’s data center network infrastructure systems, including LANs and/or WANs.
Plans, designs, and implements networked systems, including configurations, upgrades, and migrations; supporting/troubleshooting network problems; coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, switches, and application load balancers.
Collaborates with internal customers to propose technology solutions to meet business requirements.
Responsible for project planning, cost analysis, delivery of detailed design proposals, and vendor comparisons.
May research and evaluate emerging network and communication technology.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
6+ years network design experience in a Data Center environment
Expert level experience with Cisco routers and switches, including Nexus platform
Experience with F5 and Cisco ACE Load Balancers
Knowledge of routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Strong knowledge of LAN related technologies: STP, VLANs, HSRP, VTP etc.
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP
Working technical knowledge of HTTP/S, DNS, POP, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, TACACs+, Proxy Servers, etc
Excellent customer facing skills and ability to provide advanced technical engineering designs and proposals to enterprise clients
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Highly self-motivated and self-directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong customer service orientation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Additional Knowledge & Skills - these are your “nice to have” skills
Familiar with public cloud architectures including Microsoft Azure and AWS
Familiar with virtual networking technologies including VXLAN, VMWARE VDS and VSS, and NSX
Familiar with Cisco MDS SAN platform
CCNP/CCIE highly desired
