Job Description :
The below listed efforts are intended to build Financial Aid Management Functionality. The responsibilities for this effort will be the development of operational programs to support the Financial aid management function at BCCC and will also include design, operations and support documentation, testing, and testing support. The Computer Programmer (Senior) shall execute the following:
Financial aid management system customization:
Develops and tests COBOL programs based on design specifications
Conducts appropriate unit testing of programs
Supports System, Integration, and User Acceptance testing
Provides designs and design support on programs to be developed
Other production support as required
Required Skills
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or at least three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
General Experience:
The proposed candidate must have at least eight (8) years of programming experience in software development or maintenance.
Specialized Experience:
The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in IT systems analysis and programming.
At least ten (10) years of COBOL development experience
Desired Skills
Education:
A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
General Experience:
At least three (1) year of programming experience at an academic institution.
Specialized Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience working in a higher education setting supporting administrative offices such as Admissions, Registrars, Financial Aid, Accounting and or Business Office.
A Master''s Degree is preferred.
