Description
The Georgia Institute of Technology Cyber Security team is seeking FTE assistance in performing IT asset assessments in order to achieve compliance with new federal cyber security regulations. Candidates should have a strong background in technology and audit/assessment work.
Job Purpose: Perform information security regulatory compliance activities as needed to identify, evaluate, report, mitigate, and manage information security compliance risks.
Major Responsibilities:
Perform NIST 800-171 compliance assessments for campus research labs
Ensure security controls are operating effectively.
Design system security plans

Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Work Experience: two to three years job related experience
Certifications: CISSP or CISA

Skills: Job related experience in the risk and compliance field focusing on ensuring that the entity complies with federal, state, and industry regulations and standards. Experience in information security compliance in higher education and/or experience in information security compliance with federal government regulations, requirements, and mandates. This position requires the ability to work independently, be creative and innovative at conducting a high volume of risk analyses, and report accurate risks to the appropriate constituents.

Excellent writing, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software.
Ability to communicate with and relate to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.
Broad understanding of information security
Understanding of and familiarity with core IT elements including networking, operating systems, and enterprise and desktop software.
