NYS myBenefits Application intends to provide a web interface to apply for the various programs and services offered by the New York State. The people in New York State can check their eligibility for:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Nutrition Education
Temporary Assistance
HEAP etc.
The functionality of the myWorkspace application has been grouped into functional modules, each of which describes a discreet unit of work that will be performed by workers. These modules will allow workers to complete the processing of Food Stamps/HEAP/TA applications up to the point where the results of the determination are submitted to WMS, which will remain the system of record for application and case data.
I/EDR and OSS are used by most social services districts to scan, index, retrieve, annotate client images. These images are used by the SSDs in their client case processing separately or from within myWorkspace.
This person is to be the developer for the maintenance and enhancement of these systems.
Participate in team meetings, discuss development specifications, and contribute ideas and thoughts
Interpret program specifications and use cases and develop solutions using a Java IDE
Perform Java web application development.
Identify and do impact analysis on current versions of software components/API versions and plan for upgrades.
Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues.
Perform unit testing.
Prepare technical documentation.
Candidates should have at least 60 months experience and a majority of the following should apply:

1. 72 months of experience developing web applications with Java technology. # of months 15
2. 72 or more months of experience developing Java EE or J2EE solutions. # of months 15
3. 48 or more months of experience working with Struts framework. # of months 10
4. 48 or more months of experience developing EJB’s and Hibernate. # of months 10
5. 48 or more months of experience working with MQ and Web Services. # of months 10
6. 48 or more months of experience working with ORACLE Database. # of months 5
7. 48 or more months of experience working with XML technologies (JAXB, XML, XSL and XSLT) # of months 5
8. 48 or more months of experience working with CSS & AJAX # of months 5
9. 48 or more months of experience working Jboss (5.x & EAP 7.x) application server. # of months 5
