Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary:

A storage analyst is in charge of a server or multiple servers, ensuring they are in working order. The storage analyst needs to perform regular backups to ensure that no data is lost; these backups need to be tested regularly to make sure that they are functioning properly. The senior storage analyst also ensures that no data is accessed by unauthorized parties and that adequate security measures are in place. The storage analyst needs to carry out maintenance, often at regular intervals, to make sure that the servers are performing at their optimal levels. When operations are not working as they should, the analyst needs to carry out tests to troubleshoot the issues and correct the problems.
Also, the storage analyst needs to be able to provide support to authorized individuals trying to access their data. This often requires working in a data center or server room. The storage analyst needs to be up to date with new developments in the field; when developments occur, the analyst must present suggestions for changes so management can authorize them as needed. The analyst may also need to make changes to information technology policy at the company.

Essential functions:
Integrates and maintains storage and recovery systems
Provides assistance for other members of the storage and recovery team
Responsible for documentation of the storage and recovery environments
Responsible for system reporting & administration
Coordinates environment changes
Coordinates related activities for problem reporting
Follows all change management practices
Researches new storage & recovery related technologies and makes recommendations to management
Shows the dedication and passion to produce and maintain, high quality storage & recovery environments.
Mentors and trains other team members
Fully documents policies and procedures to maintain the storage and recovery environments
Able to explain technology to those outside of IT
Maintain portfolio accounting and trading systems (Advent AXYS, REX, & Moxy) and interface with all areas of the firm.
Ensure daily prices and custodial files are implemented on a timely and accurate basis.
Perform daily and weekly electronic reconciliation of systems to custodial records.
Create and verify client performance files.
Resolve trade settlement issues in a timely manner.
Identify workflow/system improvements and work with supervisor and operations team to enact change.

Job Description:

TSM (Spectrum Protect – IBM Backup Product) Operations Analyst.
We run an 5 node Datacenter AIX Spectrum Protect environment.
We have 2 Linux TSM servers remote.
This would be at the BTC

Configure AIX clients
Troubleshoot client issues
