Position: UI Developer/Frontend Developer
Location: NYC,NY
Duration: 3-6 months
Interview: In-Person after phone screen
As a UI Developer/Frontend Developer you''ll contribute towards defining the UI architecture as we move towards a UI-Component based, style-guide driven development approach. You’ll take click-through prototypes to production ready, frontend code, participate in code reviews and optimize frontend performance. As part of our LeanUX teams you’ll share ownership of the UI design process with teams of product managers, designer, and engineers from concept to outcome.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive product specifications and development through rapid iterative prototyping and simulations in code.
Use JavaScript, jQuery, Angularjs, CSS3, HTML5, and other cutting-edge front-end technologies to create new features/functionality on GetInsured’s exchange platform.
Contribute towards continual improvements of the UI architecture.
Collaborate and communicate with designers, front-end engineers, product managers and QA engineers in ensuring that UI design specifications are met and consistent.
Create testable, clean code, document code, troubleshoot code written by others, and refactor frontend code.
Participate in scoping, estimation & communicate approaches to solutions effectively.
Technical Skills:
Solid expertise in Javascript, Angularjs, jQuery, HTML, CSS3, LESS, SaSS.
Solid knowledge of Javascript patterns, Object Oriented Design, APIs.
Solid expertise in building apps using MVC frameworks, RESTful APIs, JSON, any MVC Javascript framework.
Experience with Bootstrap, Nodejs, Grunt, Git is a perquisite. Experience with JavaScript templating systems, and Javascript unit testing methods
Experience in optimizing for front-end performance, testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies
Knowledge of basic agile development process, and working within small agile teams
Experience in Test Driven Development, Living Styleguides, Accessibility Design, LeanUX approaches, Java backend is a plus.
Knowledge of a native mobile platform would be a plus.
