Data Analyst – Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Liaison with IT and Business in gathering details regarding various data sources and documenting them.
Work with SMEs in development metadata and cataloging various tables
Qualifications:
Total 8+ years of experience
Data Analyst, Excel & Access VBA, Basic PLSQL
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates a solid understanding of and experience in application systems analysis techniques
Responsible for identifying the business needs of the clients and stakeholders to help determine solutions to business problems.
Responsible for requirements development and requirements management. Elicits, analyzes, validates and documents business, organizational and/or operational requirements
Serves as a key facilitator within a project, acting as a bridge between the client, stakeholders and the solution team
Assists in conducting training sessions for department personnel
Assists in evaluating requests for system enhancements
Creates and/or updates systems related procedure manuals, may develop manuals/materials to assist in the training of staff
Responds to customer concerns and communicates results; solid communication skills both written and verbal
Has understanding of business analyst skills, methods and tools
Has a mastery of business systems analyst skills, methods, techniques and tools
Able to rapidly learn technical/business techniques and disciplines of special value to the systems supported
Possesses a working knowledge of the business, and a conceptual understanding of the technical environments in which the system operates
Has demonstrated the ability to perform application systems analysis functions at a very high degree of accuracy and speed
Has expert research and analysis skills in the formulation and definition of project scope and objective
Analyzes and resolves system issues related to the business process
Builds effective alliances
Can articulate technical solutions
Strong communication skills both written and verbal, ability to tailor message to different audiences
Ability to direct team in achievement of team objectives,
Pushes back in a professional manner when things do not make sense or there is a better way to accomplish the objectives
Collaborate with Travelers managers and be the single point of contact for the vendor team
Good to have knowledge about:
Concepts – Data analysis, Data pattern, Business insurance application knowledge
Languages - Data Analyst, Excel & Access VBA, Basic PLSQL
Tools – Data analysis tool, Oracle SQL Developer.
