Job Title : DMS Consultant/SME
Location : Newark, NJ
Duration : Full time

Relevant Experience(in Yrs) Minimum 8-10 years of electric & gas utility experience

Technical/Functional Skills

Hands on experience on Distribution Management System (DMS) & OMS of OSII (preferred)/ ABB / Oracle NMS / GE / Schneider / Siemens system.
Knowledge on Fault Management through FLISR, Feeder Reconfiguration and Smart Switching will be an added advantage.
Proven knowledge of hardware, software and architecture including market trends and consulting level experience.
Experienced resource from Electric Utilities and/or Consulting Entities servicing this area will be preferred

Experience Required Experienced candidate having experience in one or more of the following areas:

Power Distribution Operations, Planning and Engineering.
Experience in Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Outage Management System (OMS) and Power SCADA systems etc. on one or more products from the different vendors in these areas (e.g., OSII, ABB, Alstom Grid, GE Energy, Siemens Energy, ORACLE and Telvent)
Experience on Integration of the DMS System with other legacy systems like Customer Information System (CIS), Asset Management Systems etc. will be an added advantage.
Cutover Tasks and Change over management is an added advantage.


The candidate should also have a strong understanding of:
Smart Grid
Distribution Network System Modeling
Grid System Implementation & Lifecycle Management.

Project Management

Roles & Responsibilities :
Work with customers to gather and develop business and technical requirements while also supporting the development of the customer’s Technical Specifications , Architecture and design roadmap
Support the implementation of the selected systems through the entire SDLC and including database and display development or conversion; design and build activities; system integration and testing; system cutover planning; support of parallel operations and/or trial cutover; training and documentation, user acceptance testing and system commissioning
Manage, oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project from initial planning through completion of project
Help translate a wide variety of client needs/requirements into detailed proposals and project plans to meet project’s requirements
Proactively communicate project requirements and other key aspects on a regular basis through monthly updates and other updates as critical developments occur.
Manage all interfaces and communication between client and Project Team and business stakeholders;
Ensure clarity of expectations for project deliverables from all project participants whilst identifying potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact
