Workflow Developer

Brecksville, Ohio staffing firm is seeking local candidates for an Information Systems Workflow Developer (contract to hire role) for their client that is located in Cleveland Ohio.

Programmer will be responsible for serving as point technical lead for projects which involve developing complex, cost-effective information technology solutions for business related problems by creating new or enhancing and maintaining existing software programs/applications or components.

Works on problems which requires substantial knowledge of IS technologies, and key duties include, but not limited to, providing guidance to others with regard to technical projects, systems enhancements, defect fixes, and on-call production support.

Assists others in the steps involved in the life cycle of software development, and creates and executes tests that demonstrate product expectations, which could include various levels or types of testing.

Ensures code quality via coaching and reviewing the work of other developers, which may include conducting code walk-throughs, and recommendations for improvements to testing approach.

Uses skills and knowledge of an advanced and seasoned professional in the area of software program/application development and implementation.

Wide range of experience in applying software program/application development methodology and life cycle.

Works on problems of diverse scope and high complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Leads software application development and/or enhancement projects, exercising exceptional judgment and creativity in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions, and escalating only the more unusual and/or unique software program/application development issues when necessary.

Provides recommendations for improving processes and procedures. Stays current with industry best practices and shares with others and functions as an escalation point for other resources

Essential Functions:

Works with IS leadership to develop and maintain agency wide application and development long and short term strategies
Responsible for the maintenance, performance and development of our agency SharePoint platform.
Develops software solutions by accessing IT needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities, and other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience
4 year degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of application / development experience (software development & related fields); database administration and experience a benefit. Strong SharePoint experience preferred.
Software Design, Software Documentation, Software testing, software development fundamentals, mentoring, software development and software lifecycle management.

Availability
Because this is a 24/7 Agency working after hours and on weekends is a requirement.
Support for On Call staff is required.

Physical work may require the exertion of up to seventy five (75) pounds of force occasionally; work requires sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, fingering, grasping and repetitive motions; vocal communication; hearing, and visual acuity.
Employee is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
