VIOME is a wellness as a service company that applies machine learning to varied biological data – from genome to mobile application data – to provide you with personalized recommendations for a healthy living. Viome has an exciting and small interdisciplinary team where you will be working with experts in medicine, genomics, big data and machine learning.
As a full stack engineer at Viome, you’ll deliver a unique software product to the market that captures and shows analyses and visualizations on large volumes of data. We have more sources of data than anyone in the market and can deliver insights that cannot be matched. We’re looking to hire people who can dive in and deliver results quickly. You’ll get the opportunity to get in early and help shape the platform.
This is a unique position, as you’ll have the entire picture and you’ll work with other engineers that might focus on one part of the application.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with our doctors to ensure that the dashboard allows them to make recommendations effectively and efficiently
* Collaborate with bioinformaticians to figure out how to display data from the labs
* Collaborate with other frontend and backend engineers to drive releases in AWS – we’re using ansible
* Contribute to web services and defining interfaces – we’re using Scala, Slick for web services, but good Java experience is sufficient.
* Contribute to front-end code – we’re using React and Redux, but Javascript experience with any other modern framework suffices
* Ensure security of the system – security is important for medical data and we need to be HIPAA compliant, so we’re encrypting all data at rest and in transition using SSL and encrypted storage. You should be able to maintain this and ensure security for the new code.
