Job Title: IT - System Administrator II
Work Location: Raleigh, NC
Contract to hire

Job Description: Responsible for day-to-day monitoring and operation of IT systems, as well as the enterprise applications and databases used on those systems. Support interface to Support Services for incident and problem resolution.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)
1. Assist other System Administrators in providing continual system coverage.
2. Monitor current applications and systems for performance bottlenecks; Research and resolve performance problems.
3. Use and manage standard applications designed to support or enhance system availability or reliability.
4. Utilize and adhere and help define current best practice standards of administration.
5. Test and maintain and recommend third-party software applications that support or enhance supported environment.
6. Maintain acceptable revision or version level of all system native or third party installed software.
7. Assist in maintenance of IT disaster recovery plans (DRP) and participate in recovery exercise.
8. Provide regular updates to Manager on all projects and tasks.
9. Assist Manager in developing long-range software plans.
10. Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with personnel across several departments.
11. Recommend changes and provide alternative approaches for workability and economic feasibility.
12. Review policies, procedures and documentation according to current established standards.
13. Responsible for documentation of systems, developing new standards, and utilizing collaboration arenas such as SharePoint.
14. Other duties as assigned by company management.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
1. Travel required in this position: Yes, 10 days per year.

BASIC SPECIFICATIONS: (Requirements to perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified)
1. Minimum education required: BS degree in computer-related field. Applicable work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
2. Minimum experience required: 2-4 years of Citrix administration business experience, 3-5 years of Windows Server/Active Directory experience.
3. Special skills: Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Provisioning Services, MCS, Netscaler, Storefront and Edgesight; Citrix licensing and legacy (Presentation Server 4.0, 4.5) farm administration; VDI deployment and administration.
4. Special knowledge required: MS Windows environment, Office and other applicable software programs, PowerShell
5. Preferred skills: VMware
6. Other: Demonstrate ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn.
7. Off-hours and maintenance window work required as needed. Must be reachable via mobile device.
