Expert at configuration management with Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef
Expert with cloud service providers (AWS, Google Compute, Open Stack, or Azure)
Main Skills needed:
- Someone with Amazon Web Service skills needed at a minimum - not just some dabbling
- An expert in AWS will go a long way. Someone who has been doing AWS full-time in their last position or two
Some responsibilities include:
* Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
* Develop software infrastructure to support a wide variety of mobile web and smart TV applications and services.
* Explore evaluate and select components technologies to solve complex business problems.
* Be a key member of a top-notch engineering team that delivers high-performance reliable software services and APIs to teams who build consumer-facing products.
* Collaborate with other teams in the company to design and develop scalable solutions that integrate well with Comcast’s ecosystem.
* Present and defend architectural design and technical choices to internal and external audiences.
* Part of on-call engineer rotation
Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. May require a bachelor''s degree in engineering and at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Position Comments:
Responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations teams. Automates all infrastructure build out in AWS utilizing Ansible, Packer, and Terraform. Develops scripts to manage existing infrastructure in non-cloud environments. Documents all operations and infrastructure. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Skills:

* Bachelor''s degree in computer science or related field
* 5+ years experience with highly scalable and high availability services operations
* Expert at configuration management with Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef
* Expert with cloud service providers (AWS, Google Compute, Open Stack, or Azure)
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts such as Terraform
* Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python, Ruby, Shell/Bash, Groovy, etc.
* Knowledge of version control using Git and GitHub
* Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Drone, or Travis)
* Deep understanding of HTTP protocol
* Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban
* UNIX background
