Title : PHP/Java Developer
Location: Virginia Beach, VA OR Philadelphia, PA
Duration : Full Time/ Direct Hire position
Skills: LAMP and some Oracle experience
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work closely with team members and other coworkers in all aspects of technical solution design, delivery, and maintenance.
Collaborate on the research and development of new software products and applications.
Conceive, design, prototype, and test new methods, algorithms, and models.
Define architecture requirements and performance standards to meet or exceed management and customer specifications.
Identify and resolve complex software issues.
Advise operations personnel on machine configuration that could affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
Prepare analyses and present results to management and/or customer personnel.
Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced software developers.
Provide expertise to multiple projects and tasks.
Continually update knowledge of relevant technology.
Participate in special projects and prototyping as required.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following professional experience & qualifications:
One - Three (1-3) years of on-the-job experience.
Experience developing web applications using PHP on LAMP or LAOP stacks.
Experience developing web services and Beans in Java J2EE.
Experience with Oracle 11g and/or 12c.
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred.
Candidates with a 2-year degree and additional on-the-job experience will be considered.
Experience with serial communications applications strongly desired.
Experience with ETL patterns including text (csv, xml, json) and binary sources.
Experience with Agile (e.g. Scrum) and/or Lean (e.g. Kanban) SDLC methodologies.
Experiences with Git or other DVCS (distributed version control systems
Experience developing Windows applications using C# a plus.
