Summary:
MANAGER NOTES: Looking for Network Engineer to be part of Global Network Service Team. This role will be heavily involved in Incident Management - Break/Fix
Looking for someone with strong LAN/WAN and VoIP infrastructure experience. Someone that has Service Now and Cisco VoIP experience would be a plus.
Highly motivated experienced IT infrastructure engineer to support and manage the voice and data infrastructure of a growing enterprise with 500+ world-wide offices, 45000+ employees and more than 20,000
customers. Responsible for maintaining WAN, LAN, and voice infrastructure equipment, hardware, and/or software. Engage daily in inventory tracking; incident handling and escalation; and performance statistics.
Assist with the installation of networks routers and switches and other system hardware. Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to hardware and software problems. Work with alert management and
other IT groups when issues arise to minimize client productivity loss caused by technology outages, and provide necessary infrastructure for the clients to meet their business needs. The Engineer will be a member of
the Global Network Services team.
Performs 2nd level problem determination on hardware/software problems in the client''s environment. Creates and modifies modify operational procedures and standards. Trains less experienced infrastructure
personnel. Specializations in this family include (but are not limited to): Network, Tele- communications, and Monitoring/Tools
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and direct daily ticket triage meeting with Network Operation peers. Ensure the timely distribution and completion of both incident and request tickets.
Participate in the On-Call Rotation
Work closely with Service Delivery team in the transition of new or upgraded technology to operations/day two support.
Adherence and enforcement of client’s ITIL''s policies and procedures such as Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management and Release Management Processes.
Serve as one of the primary points of contact for telecommunication and network carrier service providers to assist in troubleshooting issues
Participate in data network and systems administration tasks as needed by the Engineering team
Assist with planning and implementing systems and network integrations activities as requested by management.
Mentor and educate GNS Operation peers on the operation and configuration of GNS systems and networks
Perform all activities in keeping with established change management and approval procedures
Other special projects and technology initiatives as required
Education/Work Experience
Bachelor''s degree in BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or MIS preferred. Education requirement can be substituted with demonstrated experience in technical area and over 2 years work
experience.

Network: routers, hubs, bridges, Ethernet, TCP/IP, APPC/APPN, SNMP, IP, gateways, MPLS, Checkpoint, Cisco, 3Com, VOIP, RAS, and Sniffers
Management suites: CiscoWorks, Spectrum, and ServiceNow
Knowledge of enterprise Ethernet, VLANs, QOS, routing, switching and IP addressing
Understanding of carrier technologies including T1/E1/PRI, ISDN, MPLS, metro Ethernet and systems interconnectivity
Demonstrated efficient and effective use of problem-solving and task prioritization to solve complex network challenges

Participation in the department on-call rotation required with minimal after-hours and weekends (weekly rotation) every 5-6 weeks
