DevOps Architect
The Technical Architect will join a highly visible team that will be supporting new web based technology stacks as part of a push to cloud environments. This role will:
Create design documents that ensure consistency in development across the IT organization.
Participate in the definition of software architecture to ensure that the IT organization''s software solutions are built within a consistent framework and aligned to strategy.
Implement activities that generally impact multiple components / processes and the work of own and possibly other teams.
Assigned complex undertakings that regularly require the application of independent judgment.
Receive work in short– and mid- term outcomes and operate within the context of approved methods.
You will have a proven background in transforming, designing and building enterprise scale applications and tooling eco-systems with a strong understanding of automation principles across the enterprise stack and how to industrialise these at scale. Specific skillsets are as follows:
Vast experience in Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) and Micro-Services in an enterprise setting, can evaluate and drive migration from monolithic application to microservices
A broad IT and Infrastructure background with experience of working in a senior IT Architecture role and will have recently worked in technical roles in large scale Cloud (Private and or Public) deployments (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS - preferably using OpenShift and Azure), which might also include building hybrid deployments
Candidates must have vast experience of interacting with technical functions to align the requirements of a project to system and technical requirements.
Experience of designing multi-tier and complex architectures, using various application software and hardware components.
Security software design awareness and appreciation is a plus.
Experience of using enterprise grade requirements management solutions such as Jira, Confluence, Spark EA and amongst others.
Experience of establishing enterprise scale governance frameworks using industry standard practices; TOGAF, ITIL, DSDM, PRINCE2, CITP - is a plus.
Deep knowledge of automation technologies such as Chef, and experience of designing, planning and building enterprise scale solutions, ability to drive and implement DevOps practices
Source control and repository systems such as Git, SVN, Nexus and how these can be applied in an enterprise setting.
Experience with build systems Jenkins, Bamboo, Cruise Control, UrbanCode , HP Codar.
A background in scripting languages - Python and/or Ruby preferred,
Experience with Service Virtualization and Container technologies (Vagrant, Docker, Wildfly)
Automated testing Selenium, Load Runner, Unified Functional Tester
Previous execution of outlining strategic change with a focus on DevOps & Continuous Delivery.
There is also an expectation that our Architects have experience, or good awareness of :
o Front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS, JS, Angular and NodeJS
o Experience of having used the above technologies within a large enterprise setting and influenced positive change and ROI.
Methodologies & Frameworks:
TOGAF – nice to have
ITIL – nice to have
Scrum, Kanban, SAFE, BCS Testing are highly desirable
