The Jr Data Analyst will join client’s Sustainability Analytics team to support the lead Data Engineer in the overhaul of the data acquisition and transformation process, for the team’s foundational modelling platform: The Business and Environmental Scenario Tool (BEST
They will be responsible for performing and documenting common data Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) operations, from diverse data sources, using Python and Jupyter Notebooks. They will also be expected to blend and analyze data sets to formulate recommendations and insights.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in software engineering with a solid understanding of the realities of business processes and data challenges.
The role will be most satisfying to a lifelong learner with a proven ability to develop paths through ambiguous situations that produce high quality, actionable results.
Job Duties:
Create and document ETLs from diverse data sources using SQL, Python, and notebook software
Translate business processes into a model using a C compliant mathematical language
Reflect technical requirements and rules to the business in accurate by comprehensible language
Help to build data tools and visualizations using software like Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, etc. to communicate insights and recommendations
