Job Description: Westfield seeks Vendor to a provide a Cognos Systems Administrator, as outlined in this
Statement of Work to be performed onsite at Westfield''s main campus in Westfield Center, Ohio.
Vendor shall provide an Administrator, who meets the following technical skills.
7+ years of experience managing an enterprise IBM Cognos platform, version 10.2.2 or
above
Highly skilled in Data Communications concepts and Protocols, IP addressing, remote
connectivity and firewalls.
Highly skilled in systems management and automation using appropriate scripting
languages.
Experienced in creating, maintaining and testing Business Continuity and Disaster
Recovery plans.
Knowledge of systems development, configuration management, and database concepts.
Demonstrated strong problem solving skills.
Proven desire for continuous learning.
Demonstrated organization and planning skills including the ability to prioritize work.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Skilled in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or
technical certifications or equivalent work experience.
Additional Information: Vendor shall provide the following on a time-and-materials basis.
Serves as the hands-on technical resource responsible for the
support, maintenance, administration and process improvement for
the Cognos platform.
Primary focus through July will be on participating and supporting
Westfield''s upgrade from IBM Cognos 10.2.2 to Cognos Analytics
11.06, already in process. This includes preparing virtual
environments in partnership with our desktop team, installing and
configuring the software and troubleshooting issues.
In addition, usual support activities will include, but are not
limited to the following.
Completing/granting/troubleshooting security access in
Cognos.
Monitoring and running Cognos audit and managing audit
extension.
Troubleshooting connectivity issues or establishing new
connections in the platform.
Interfacing with Westfield developers and IBM through
the use of their PMR system on issues needing escalation.
Monitors and remediates issues with scheduled jobs and
system resource issues.
Interface to the release management team and system for
package deployments.
Monitors and remediates issues with processes and
procedures to backup and restore data and systems to meet
operational, business continuity and disaster recovery
requirements.
Installs, configures, administrates and supports the Cognos
platform per the requirements of the business and project
teams.
Researches, evaluates and recommends to management
software solutions to meet Business, Project and

operational needs with consideration for financial impacts
to the organization.
Architects, designs and implements processes and
procedures to backup and restore data and systems to meet
operational, business continuity and disaster recovery
requirements.
Provides Application administration as necessary to meet
SLAs as agreed to by the Business under minimal
supervision.
Proactively monitors system capacity and performance to
meet availability SLA, decrease incidents and plan system
currency and capacity lifecycle.
Provides 2nd and 3rd level technology support by way of
Customer Service Tickets and meets the indicated SLA.
Implements Cognos application and data security,
including controls and logging to comply with the
requirements specified in the Westfield Information
Security Policies.
Identifies and implements process improvement and
optimization opportunities and automation.
Serves as SME, coach and mentor to teammates and to
other teams.
Works on multiple projects as needed; role may be a team
member or SME.
Helps develop/revise/document appropriate standards,
policies, and procedures relating to the management,
security, maintenance, recovery and utilization of the
services provided by IT in the Cognos platform.
Evaluates and recommends changes to improve service
levels.
Promotes adherence to standardized IT processes, strategic
guiding principles, and architectural standards.
Actively shares knowledge with other IT members and improves the processes and tools used by IT.
