Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 3 months contract to hire,
Rate: Submit at market rate along with their ballpark salary requirements upon conversion

5+ years testing experience; Well versed in all types of testing ( stress, performance, functionality, scalability,…)
Experience with PeopleSoft (HR & FN) and SSRS
Highly developed PeopleSoft query or SQL writing skills
Experience with automated testing tools; PeopleSoft test framework experience a plus
Able to work on multiple projects at the same time
Accurate estimation for planning
Good communications – able to present findings and defect to development and BSA teams

Major Function: (Briefly state the job''s overall purpose
Responsible for testing and evaluating custom software development and configuration. Works with the development and BSA teams to craft and execute test plans for all applications and reporting. Will interact with users to assist with User Acceptance Testing. Will participate in projects requiring data migration. Documents results to ensure SOX policies are followed.

Project/ Enhancement Concentration
Responsible for creating traceability matrixes based off BSA requirements. Create detailed Test plans, scenarios, and procedures by interpreting requirements and translating them into precise test cases. 30
Create data scenarios in test system. This may consist of manual entry or uploading of data. After testing, analyzes output of data. For projects that require data migration, will validate mapping of data is complete based off a combination of field comparison, bulk comparison and row count methods. 25
Performs system testing of changes to ensure requirements are fulfilled and regression testing is complete. Understand common software failures and faults. Report on issues and effectively explain defects. 25
Be a consultant to or participate in (when requested) user acceptance testing and training of new processes. 10
Develops queries and prepares management reports as requested. May include utilizing PS Query, Query Analyzer, MS Access, Adobe, Crystal and/or Excel among others 5
Maintains files and records according to legal and corporate requirements, provides assistance as backup is needed or volume dictates, as well as other duties as they may be assigned. Provides feedback to management regarding trends in processing problems, system performance, enhancement needs and improvement opportunities. 5

Assignment Review and Approval of Work: (Indicate who assigns work, how instructions are provided, and who reviews and approves work when completed Department Supervisor assigns all work duties and provides general instructions. Department Director and/or Senior Management approve changes in systems, policies or procedures.
Responsibility and Decision-Making: (Briefly specify responsibility for making decisions
Department manager assigns all work duties and provides general instructions. The IT Manager and staff may provide technical instruction. Incumbent will make business decisions within scope of duties assigned, decisions later ratified by management if it involves a major process change or dollar investment.

Equipment and Software Operation: (How much time is spent operating equipment? Indicate the types of equipment operated. Include specific hardware and software used and product achieved through usage
PC operation in the use of software: PeopleSoft HRMS and PeopleSoft FIN. Associated modules to include Payroll, Time and Labor, Billing, AP, AR, General Ledger, Pay Bill Management, Projects, and Contracts. (Note: PeopleSoft modules may be added as business needs change) Execution of Microsoft SSRS reporting. Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Word. General office equipment is also used.
Relations with Others: (What contacts are made other than immediate co-workers and supervisors
Position interacts with BSA, development and business users. Incumbent must stay objective in his/her assessment of test results to ensure a true testing rigor. Incumbent must remain courteous at all times providing prompt superior customer service, while recognizing the sensitivity and confidentiality of information contained within the systems utilized.
Hardest Part of Job: (Describe the most difficult or most complex part of the job
Being versed in the functional aspects of the many business and reporting systems that require customizations. Incumbent must understand and remain up to date with changes in corporate policies and regulations affecting processing procedures and system applications.
Experience Necessary: (List minimum education or equivalent experience required to perform job successfully; type and length of work experience, and any special courses required
Minimum of 5 years of experience with supporting major PeopleSoft HRMS modules like Payroll, Time and Labor, Benefits, and core HR and/or major PeopleSoft Financials (v.8.4 or better) modules like GL, AP, AR, BI, PC, CA and Expenses. PS Pay Bill Management and FO staffing experience preferred.
Experience with using Microsoft SSRS reporting.
Experience with Bullhorn applicant tracking system preferred.
5 + years of experience in a systems analyst or testing role required.
Experience with difference testing tools and methodologies. Experience with Automating testing software preferred.
Experience in developing test plans and testing strategies.
Highly developed PeopleSoft query or SQL writing skills
Experience with MS SQL Server Management Studio
The ability to work with limited supervision and in often-stressful situations is critical.
Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
Detail oriented individual with excellent work/time organizational skills, as well as analytical and problem solving skills, essential.
Intermediate to advanced Excel required, general knowledge of Word, MS Project, SharePoint required.
Employee must be a team player with initiative and self-motivation; must be able to follow written and verbal instructions as well as interpret written policies; must be flexible to accept frequent change in priorities and possess the ability to coordinate tasks under critical time demands.
Learning Period: (How long would it take a new employee to handle this job satisfactorily? What parts would take the longest to learn Employee could perform most tasks independently within 3 months. Detail tasks and complex systems take longer to learn, requiring assistance up to 6 months. Specific system interactions, interfaces and data processing impacts require the longest learning period.
