Role: Lawson System engineer

Duration:6 Months

Job Description:

Provide Lawson system administration and technical support on a UNIX environment.
System support Includes but is not limited to monitoring, migrations, installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, performance analysis, security, networking, patch management, Disaster Recovery testing/configuration and project work as assigned. This position requires 24 x 7 on-call rotational support.


Key Responsibilities:
n Responsible for the system administration functions necessary to maintain Lawson and Kronos development, test and production environments.
n Applyand test Lawson Application patches.
n Apply and test Tax Application patches.
n Applymaintenance releases, and performing system upgrades.
n Produce and maintain documented operational procedures and diagrams for all environments and related applications support.
n Provide support for Application Administrators and business users requests and queries.
n Conduct performance monitoring/tuning, and capacity monitoring/planning for all environments.
n Ensure that all environment backups are performed successfully
n Produce scripts to perform and automate regular administration and housekeeping tasks.
n Provide Lawson and Kronos technical expertise to other IT staff that support Oracle, Windows Servers, Lawson and Kronos Applications and Interfaces.
n Partner with IT staff while conducting regularly scheduled fail over testing and maintenance.
n Works with Business users and Application Team Associates to provide technical support, including, needs analysis, system capacity planning, defining & creating development & production work environments, and executing application pre/post go live activities.
n Works with Security Team to maintain system security and data integrity for all systems including, security auditing, audit compliance, and management of security-level profiles in accordance with security best practices.
n Works independently to monitor system activity and adjust for maximum performance.
n Work with the company trouble ticketing system and/or other groups in the IT department to analyze problems and provide corrective actions to the Lawson environment. l

n Lawson LSF9, LSF10 Administration – includes applying CTPs, Environment Patches, Environment upgrades
n Lawson Landmark Administration – includes monitoring, applying patches & upgrades
n Working knowledge of all Lawson utilities, Lawson DB utilities
n Administration of LAUA security, Lawson Security (a plus), Lawson Security Administrator, Lawson RM Administrator, Portal, Design Studio, LBI (FrameWork Services, Reporting Services, Smart Notification, Analytic Architect, Scorecard), and ProcessFlow
n Implementation skills for the above products a plus
n Experience maintaining and/or implementing Employee and Requisition Self Service products
n Working knowledge of Lawson’s schema for HR/Benefits/Payroll and Financial Modules. Ability to analyze data using tools such as MS Addins, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server’s native SQL utilities, other third party DB tools. Working knowledge of SQL, TSQL/PL-SQL a plus
n A good working knowledge of Lawson’s front end applications –have the skills to gain an understanding of the application by looking at the programs and tables involved a plus
n A good working knowledge of LDAP (Microsoft ADAM, IBM TDS) and knowledge of Lawson’s Security Schema, LDAP browsers, and Websphere Administration (implementation a plus)
n Provide performance assessment and tuning as related to the application and environment
n Provide periodic reviews of application environment performance and monitoring levels
n Automate regular maintenance and monitoring tasks
n Define and implement best practices methodologies for Lawson Applications support, patching, refreshes and maintenance
n Experience in one or more of the following operating systems: Windows Server, Unix (AIX, Solaris, HPUX)
n Demonstrate leadership through technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, business knowledge, organizational skills and professionalism
n Design, implement and monitor application and file system backup and recovery processes
n Provide ongoing support for existing Lawson installations and new installations/modules if any that may come up.
