ETCC Job Description:
The Linux Team Lead has the ability and understanding of how to work as an
independent contributor under general direction of ETC IT/IS Manager, to
work as a subject matter expert on Oracle, Symbian, centos, ubunti, redhat
and other Linux Operating Systems and to work as the leader of the
Linux/Storage team. He/she has an innovative approach and is willing to
learn and apply new technology. Should be able to work as a contributor to
multiple project teams, and is able to fulfill one or multiple roles in the
implementation and system maintenance processes. This position will serve as
the Linux Team Lead to guide the Linux/Storage team to provision and deploy
Linux based OS on VMWare ESXi infrastructure with NAS and SAN storage
backend. This individual must be highly organized; is able communicate
regularly on project and task progress with various levels of the
organization; responsible for resolving issues in a timely manner; must
possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Manage and maintain application health and performance. Use good judgment
in independent problem solving and problem solving efforts
Lead the Linux team in the implementation of configuration changes, as well
as backing out an unsuccessful change.
Provide coaching and mentoring for direct reports development and career
growth
Monitor individual employee''s performance and provide timely performance
feedback.
Establish impact to service and environment for executed changes and
provide stakeholders with downtime notifications and status updates in a
timely manner
Authoring and self-accountable of technical documentation of the newly
implemented systems within the Linux team
Manages the Linux team to ensure that project delivery dates are met and
incorporates the guidance from the IT/IS manager to adjust the Linux team''s
tasks based on needs of the department
