Description of Role:
The Security Engineer is an integral role within the Information Security team.
Client is seeking an experienced security engineer who enjoys security work and possesses both deep and wide expertise in the security space.
Candidate will make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, ensure computer systems and network devices are hardened against attacks and play an instrumental role in securing highly sensitive data.
Qualified candidates will have an extensive background in security, are self-starters and have a high degree of comfort working with limited direction in a start-up type of culture.
This individual should also have extensive experience in vendor management in the area of operations and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computers systems, networks and information
- Identify and define system security requirements
- Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
- Develop technical solutions and enhance security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
- Perform assessments and write comprehensive findings
- Execute all planned security reviews utilizing pre-approved tools and methodology
Required Skills:
- 5 – 8 years of relative experience including:
- 6 years of managing security compliance procedures, guidelines, and testing
- 6 years of security testing in a large enterprise operation with vendor product exposure
- 5 years of work experience in Data security and PCI compliance
- 2 years of evaluating and providing recommendations for IT solutions
- Experience evaluating and providing security recommendations for IT solutions
- Solid work experience in data security, including PCI DSS compliance
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor''s degree required in either Computer Science, Security or Engineering; advanced degree preferred
